Thanks John…you guys are great.
One more question…when I then go into DVD Architect Pro 5.2, I am rendering the video at the same settings you mentioned for 16 X 9 on a standard DVD-R disc, correct? And the settings in DVD Architect would be what?
I know if I begin to do Blue Ray it will be different, but I’m taking baby steps right now.

Tomorrow’s event is under a tent with speeches and b roll of a kick-off party. I will be using it for weddings as well which is my primary business. Is FH ok or is FX the better choice. And I do have 4 16 GB cards but they are all class 10. Am I going to have a problem if I use FX and class 10 cards for this event??
I thought Class 10 cards were the standard. If there is a potential for skipping video, then I will use the FH setting even though I want the quality of the FX.Thanks for your reply.

Mike,
How do I do a two pass in the constant bit mode? It does not allow me to access the two pass setting unless I go into variable mode. Do I make all the VBR settings 8,000,000?

Hi all,
Thank you so much for your responses. I was fortunate that, like Mike, it is a school play and mostly static and the quality looks pretty good.

Sorry Nigel,
I totally missed that in your post. It certainly would have saved me a great deal of time, because yes you can vary the burn speed in DVDA, which I am now doing and it has solved the issue.
Thanks again for your help.

Mike (and everyone),
Just an update on what happened with my DVDA problem. If you read the previous posts, you will see what got me here. Well mike, after clearing the temp files and assigning new ones the problem persisted.
I then contacted Sony and after four phone calls, four techs, an upgrade to Vegas 10 and DVDA 5.2, the problem continued to persist. Then finally, the last tech suggested that I slow the burner down to 8 X speed instead of the default 18 X and it worked. I’m not sure why, and his explanation was that sometimes when there is that much information being transferred from the computer to the burner, that pushing it at the top speed could have led to this error.
I’m not sure if we just got lucky, or if this is a real deficiency in the system, but all I care about right now is that it is working and I can get some projects completed.
Thanks again Mike for all your assistance.
Dan.
