Depends on how you have your storage set up but you should be able to select the /mnt folder on the mac when setting up the storage in Resolve so it always points at /mnt rather than just /
Should work

I dont think they actually install but when you open the .dmg package you’ll see a folder called sample footage and you can just drag it from the installer to your desktop

Hey Ben,
If you have the desktop video driver installer handy have a look at the sample files provided. You can import them pretty quickly and you’ll be able to test the output of the card then.
They normally include bars and tone at different resolutions and frame rates so hopefully it will help!

I would ask them if they could render out the speed changes and reimport the changed quicktime file. It will save you worrying about it and makes the whole round trip easier.
On the codec front I’d check the resolve supported codec PDF just to be safe but I think XDCAM in a .mov wrapper should work.

There is so many motherboards coming out every week that it would be impossible for the guys at BMD to test them all. A good way of thinking is have a look at the configuration guide on the website and if the board has similar specs to a recommended one and is a good manufacturer like ASUS etc… you should have no problems.

What file formats do you normally export?
If you use something like uncompressed QT or DPX you should have no quality loss at all.
The alternative is to export an AAF from Edius and then relink to the original rushes in Resolve. That should mean that you only render once.

Apple own Prores so its totally up to them. It makes sense for them to keep ProRes a Mac only render codec for Resolve as it means people will have to buy a MacPro rather than building a Windows box.
The option I use is we have Linux systems for the speed and then two mac systems in our machine room for ingesting and rendering anything thats ProRes. Works really well as the main suites are always grading.

I love the new tracking box, it makes life so easy when your tracking a lot. The way you can remove points that you don’t like is a life saver.
I don’t think the UI is finalised yet either so it may still be possible!

Using Hilite is a great option. Also you can zoom the image in too!
