Most codecs cant’ come close to matching that size. Image sequences can however. I would contact the client and ask how the files are normally prepared if they are insisting on mp4 or AVI.

It’s a great plugin, as is nearly all of his stuff. It’s easy for beginners to get caught up copying Kramer’s tutorials or slapping on his plugins willy-nilly, but for those with experience who look to utilize his tools more creatively, his plugins are game changers.

These look like some new text animation presets. The easiest way is to just split your text layer at the point you want the effect to stop, and then remove the effect from the second layer. You could also keyframe the slider controls that come with these effects.

You can do a somewhat limited version of that by utilizing 3D Vanishing Point.

    – True Comp Duplicator (for duplicating a comp and any precomps it contains)
    – Gridder (arranges layers in a grid)
    – LayerRandomShifter (user sets parameters and layers will randomly shift in time)
    – 3D Layer Distributor (again, you set parameters and then layers will be moved randomly in 3D space)
    – Ease and Wizz, though I find it somewhat finicky.

All of these can be found on AEscripts.com

Which part are you concerned with taking too much time? Manually moving the names around? Once you have the ranking graphic built, it will certainly take time to animate, but it shouldn’t be prohibitive. I’m imagining popping the names out in z space and moving them up or down in y space.

It’s not a very well-known plugin for some reason, but seems pretty powerful. It’s been used on several big-budget films. I’ve only used version 1, but Nodes 2 appears to have a lot of added features that make it more competitive with Plexus or Form in addition to its unique tools.

Check out the Nodes 2 plugin also.

Andrew Kramer’s solution (around the 18 minute mark) was to increase the frame rate of your comp and then export and re-import your particle layer. Obviously not ideal in a lot of scenarios, but it may work for what you are doing.

Not sure where it is in the video you posted, but it sounds like you are talking about what some call a Dolly Zoom. This is typically done in camera, though you could simulate it if you shoot green screen and add in the foreground and background in post. Won’t look quite as good though as you’d be moving flat planes (unless you build a 3D environment).
