I’m just doing a 16:9 tv program but I give to the tv people in 4:3 letterbox…
they told us that it was easier to broadcast because not too many people have widescreen TV sets…
well I see a lot of them around…
Mexico is a little behind in some parts, and the TV station well it not state of the art, yet…
betcha TELEVISA and TV AZTECA, they sure can broadcast in 4:3 and in 16:9…Hello from Mexico….

you can also try using the iris transition double clicking on it and choosing the desired in or out and also apply a border to it and softening or feather it…. in the same iris transition setting

you have to separate the audio and video streams, this is called demuxing… so try google on bbdemux, and it could work for you, or a much better solution ffmpegX…..
and it will work… QT 7 pro doesn’t do it for me… at least on the audio part.

to Ivankphoto,
this usually happens and it used to get a big deal from my part, bu if you have QT7 pro you can adjust how the video looks on screen, it usually is softened for some default reason, just do the following:
in QT7 go to show movie properties (command + J) in there choose the video track and go to visual settings, in there go to the lower right corner and select “high quality”…. as soon as you do this the QT screen with your movie looks its best, and you can sve it with that option so when you choose to see that movie the high quiality setting woulb be selected…hope that helps…

I was for a time a happy premiere user on windows until I decided I needed a change (I was in premiere 5 to 6.5) I even spent dealing with hardware stuff…..
Now I’m happy with Final Cut Studio…..
about your problems it happens quite often and usually its never the same cause…. I even tried Premiere Pro and couldn’t make a pan that looked good with my pictures, looked good on computer but on TV looked like it lacked resolution, but as you mention canopus imaginate… got me going quite some time with a lot of smooth movements and I liked it….
but now I used motion2 for those movements in my montages and I just happen to liked it more, you can even import those layered photoshop files and some movements to the layers and quite easily…
but for some reason now, I’m not concerned with hardware, I mean I spent more time editing than inside the guts of the machine…
hope it helps
