    Hi Dale…

I just read this post and I hope I can be of help to you…

In Mexico you can make it as legally as you want it to be… if you know a little bit of spanish you can go right here and read what it takes:
    https://www.aduanas.sat.gob.mx/webadunet/aga.aspx?Q=ImpTemp_06

but if you dont know the language it could be easily for someone to take advantage….

so in little words it works like this:

People can import temporally merchandise for activities as such: journalism, radio, TV or cinematography activities…
    How to proceed?

    1
Go to the closer Mexican Embassy or Consulate and ask for a constance for ID’s from the media, agency or bussiness represented by you
    2
fill the format “Solicitud de autorizaci

October 5, 2005 at 7:20 am in reply to: 40 minutes project using MacMin ?

    Hi.. just my 2cents…

you could use a Mac Mini… with FCP on it and a firewire disk to capture the footage, that way the HD insede the mini just runs the software, and in case you get access to a faster machine you can speed things up sometimes….

also you can like do the editing by segments… lets say its 40 minutes… you can have 4 projects of 10 minutes each, and taht way it will not be that slow when opening the project… well it work for me with an eMac time ago… and well the Mini has a G4 better that the one my eMac has….

one more thing… (sounds familiar), be sure to max out the RAM because you will need it…

I made a simple test using the one FCP has by default and can see it at:

    https://dasecast.nogalesdefiesta.com/chroma_dase.html

its kind of silly, but a test is a test… since the page was written for some latin friends is in spanish, but here is in plain english…. and condensed

I used my light bulb of my room and light coming from the window, I then applied the color smoothing -4:1:1, and then the chroma key, a little toying around with the stting and voila.. it made my test come out fast and better than what I thought would get….

but I downloaded the trial of dvmatte blast from dvgarage.com and the dv sample footage and tried it in motion and I liket it too…

September 9, 2005 at 9:25 am in reply to: FCP 5.02 and QT 7.02.. so far so good.

Hi, just wanted to say that I got QT Pro 7, and it was good watching my DV movies with chapters on it, but when I installed the 7.02 update of quicktime, I can no longer see my DV movies full screen, they keep on the left side without getting full screen, so I dont know if the update messed it up, but can’t think of another thing…..

August 31, 2005 at 7:05 am in reply to: Sony DCR-VX2100E and 16:9?

I have the vx2100 and basically the same opinion you got before me, but also use a pdx10 wich is said to have true 16:9 ccds… so check it out… but it not as good in low light…. (in 16:9, if you just want to have the feel of the black bars its not that mauch important, I guess, I made a wedding in 16:9 and it look fine allright, I just meade the DVD have options like 4:3 pan & scan, 4:3 letterbox, and 16:9, and those clients were thrilled)

you can attach a beachtek adaptor to the vx2100 and have two xlr inputs, so that a good one….

I would go with the Sony DSR-250 because of the low light…. in weddings its the atmosphere that counts and it usually means low light, also In my case I use the vx-2100 that has the same ccds of the pd170 and the 250, and because I like to be in all the cool dance moves I have a pdx10 that usually dances all night with the guests….
