the most compelling subtitle-programm for mac that I know is Annotation Edit from Zeitanker.com

you can convert different time-bases, tons of different formats and you can also transcribe new/existing subtitles with/on existing video-tracks.

you might have a look at it.

Jim,
DVD is MPEG2 SD only and NO H264 by spec. what you wish to do is possible if you are talking about 7 x 30min videos with a stereo audio-track.

if you are authoring a DVD-9 this would lead to approx. 4.7Mbit/s target-bitrate, which is not very good quality.

and: eport your SD-video “same as source” from avid and then encode it to MPEG2 using squeeze prior authoring.

I´m still using DVD Afteredit Mastering Edition, but I´m based in germany.

maybe you can call Robin or Larry from Rivergate Software, they might be able to giv e you a hand on the project.

that´s simple,
export as quicktime or avi-movie using AVID DNX (if installed), or maybe photo-jpeg.

if you are on a mac it would be more simple, because you can choose apple PRO RES.

first of all – there´s something weard with your project.

I´ve seen 100GB BD-ROM-content, while you not selected any BD-ROM-content. the disc is MORE than full. that might be the first issue.

2ndly to use WAV-audio is no good choice, well it works better with BD but it is a big mess with DVD. 95% of all DVD-player-issues I´ve ever seen came from uncompressed PCM-audio.

your menu seams to be ok, so far as your screen-grab showed, but in detail this could only be verified when looking at it in detail.

teamviewer would be a good way to do so.

Yu-Ming,
you can´t create HD-subtitle for SD-DVDs, and HD-DVD is a dead format that died approx. 5 years ago.

if you want to have HD-content on a disc you need to create a blu-ray disc.

MP3 is no good idea as file-format for DVD/BD-autoring.

use AC-3-files or WAV/AIFF-files, but no compressed mp3.
