A million bucks for a mac pro…

It is better, but still not as solid as 10.8. Much improved though.
I’ve reverted back to OSX 10.8 in the meantime though, because AJA still hasn’t released openIO drivers for Avid, and that’s crucial for me.

Yes it does work on it. When they say it works for 6.x, the x means that any number will do.

I’m running an AJA T-Tap, which should basically perform the same as your ioXT.
Mavericks support is not as good as 10.8 right now. Premiere Pro and FCP7 both have occasional audio sync and drop-out issues. I spoke to AJA and they are aware of the issue.

Sorry to revisit this thread, but I was also wondering… can Protools ‘stack’ audiosuite effects on individual clips?

I suspect that Adobe’s official stance will be “it’s great on both!” as they don’t want to alienate anyone. However, I thought it’s been the consensus for years that Adobe products perform better on Windows if the specs are evenly matched. If I could remember the URLs of such articles/tests, I’d link them, but these are things I’ve only casually paid attention to, so I don’t have them handy.

It’s going to be guaranteed that a promax system will perform better than the mac tube. The configuration possibilities are undeniable.
I’ve been a mac guy for nearly a decade at home. This is my first job where we use PCs… and I’m really noticing the power…and the fact that Windows 7 is a very capable OS.
For now, though, I’m still clinging to my OSX.

As a side note, you’re going to hate the fact that perf slip doesn’t work for AMA files, or even files transcoded from an AMA source.
