Dave, Thanks.
Everything sounds right by what you’re saying, I believe the way it works with the DV50, is the everything is shot at 60 frames with a pull down to 29.97, then another pulldown to 23.98, I Believe??
So, let me see if I completely understand the workflow.
I should just go to the original project file and copy the footage over to the new timeline? Or do I want to take the original footage, bring it into a timeline that is DV50 at 23.98, then use the that as a Nested Comp and bring that into the new timeline?
Is there anything I can do pre-editing to the DV50 footage, to help make this a much happier workflow?

“System Settings” are in the Fincal Cut Pro Menu on the top left

You would go up to “System Settings” and then you can either add a new folder to set as your default for Video Capture, Render and Audio Render, or you can set up a new folder for just Render files. You’ll see those tabs on the left

I am still having this issue of the aspect ratio, and now I’m really getting confused and don’t really know what to do?
I have even exported out a scene from FCP, imported it into AE and did what I needed to in AE to make my flying logo work. Then rendered that out, brought it into FCP, and it’s still way off?
Why is this the issue, do I need to go back to the original PSD file and change the Aspect Ratio on that, so it’s the same all the way through?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

That’s what I figured, but wanted to see if anyone had a nice work around with ProRes 422 or something else. Thanks for the help

Sorry didn’t elaborate… Well, we have a long distance relationship with our editor right now, he was moved to Ohio for his wife, and we are in Chicago, so we need to see rough cuts regularly. Obviously staring at a computer screen for 24 minutes can be tedious, so we want the quality to be as high as it possibly can, but not take forever to download to watch. And we will be doing this consistantly, for 13 episodes, I want to figure out the best way to make this work and not take forever to get it to 5 different people at different computers through an FTP site.
That’s that.

Thanks. It seems kind of funny that, things like that wouldn’t be standard across all platforms, from AE to FCP to AVID, etc. So does Adobe Premier do the same thing that AE does or is it more in line with FCP?

I understand that, but sometimes you don’t have that luxury, or at least I don’t in this case, so I have to make do with real footage and make it as close and artsy as I possibly can. I think the advice given here is great advice for those who need to fake it like I’m doing
