Never mind, I fixed my problem! So, what I figured out is if I go into my timeline and double click and change my audio roles and audio configurations within the timeline / multicam clips, it will ripple through the timeline, thus making the changes a lot easier to make that way! ☺
So if you ever come across the problem of not properly setting up your Audio Roles and Configurations, just make your changes within your master project timeline and it’ll ripple through.

April 9, 2017 at 11:31 pm in reply to: MultiCam Video/Audio links with original audio clip not matchingYeah, I recognize that now. Damn, it doesn’t feel like it is a hard thing to allow those changes ripple through to the edit, right?
So, do I then need to go through every edit / clip within my project timeline and change them to mono? Is there a way to simplify the process and make bulk edits?
Thanks

April 6, 2017 at 7:03 am in reply to: MultiCam Video/Audio links with original audio clip not matchingBased on what I’m reading through Apple’s support documents, I feel like the information should sync / update when I change the information via each individual clip. So for example ‘House_1_A’ is Dialogue 1,2 and ‘House_1_B’ is Dialogue 3, 4 in the browser, but when I go to my MultiCam clip ‘House_1_M’ it is still as Stereo and Dialogue 1. Why isn’t the information syncing with my updates to each clip? Shouldn’t that update??
Thanks,

March 15, 2017 at 3:23 am in reply to: Multicam edit with multiple channels of audio to exportI am going through and on Angle A I’m labeling those Dialogue 1 & 2 (Dual Mono), and Angle B is labeled Dialogue 3 & 4, so on and so forth. Is that the best way to label them?

March 15, 2017 at 3:19 am in reply to: Multicam edit with multiple channels of audio to exportI am tagging them now, which is actually working. So all the audio is linked to the video and imported as STEREO, so I am going through and making them dual Mono or separating the tracks however I need to on each separate clip outside of the Multicam clip, which is working. But if they have multiple channels of audio, how do I tag them separately?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Noah, I’m looking into both XSEND MOTION and XIMPORT AE from Automatic Duck to find the best solution for this. I have most everything laid out and ready to go, once I’m closer to mastering, I’m assuming I want to have all my audio, visual, effects etc ready for After Effects or Motion 5 and essentially mastering because I won’t be able to round trip back to FCPX for mastering?
I wish their was a better solution for round tripping between FCPX and Motion, why isn’t there like their was in the past?

If I start in After Effects, how should I go about mastering, especially with linking the external audio?

We filmed it already, green screen is great. We shot on the Sony FS5 in 4K, so the keying has been super easy. I have to link up the external audio, so I had been doing that in FCPX and mapping the layers, but if I can link them later, let me know? I am fluid either way, I just never had linked audio via AFX. I also have elements coming in from our VFX guy who will be creating all the additional animated elements needed.
