I gave it a try and found out that after you drag all the edit to a new bin, I have to right click and make independent clips. Otherwise I can rename the individual files.

Unfortunately, once the files go into the new bin they also do not arrange them self in a descending order. So I can manage which audio clip is which.

Alternatively I can drag each edit over to the new bin one by one and rename

At first my vendor told me the same thing. But when I was about to purchase he then told me that BlackMagic stopped making them…

The Deckink card was offered as the only alternative.

Hmmm

Yes. the bulk of my work is SD however we are moveing into HD.

Even if the card dosent do the down coversion then wouldnt it be handled by the multibridge useing my purposed setup?

Not much experience here but:
Personally I would consider converting all the VHS to an SD format and not to 720P as I would think the enlargement would make the already VHS look even worse.
And depending on your workflow you might be down converting all you
