Adobe’s problem is that the list a minimum system requirement that is for basic DV editing.
when editors try and use their program on inferior hardware and start messing with multiple stream or use HD content they run into problems everytime.
I edit on a dual quad-core xeon machine with 16GB of ram and a high end video card.
I never have had a crash that I can recall.
I also do not have other programs trhat are not compatible with Premiere on the same machine.
People love Final Cut and their Macs because final cut was made for the Mac. -

Why can’t you edit a a few cameras down to 1 or two streams and then do a four cam edit.I have used six cameras before and two were sationary un-manned. These were wide shots used when my action shots were not where we needed them.
once you run through your 4 cam edit you can go back and correct or when you are done you can render out and then input you other shots or enter special effects as needed.
I edit using HD streams with the Cineform codec on Dell 690 with dual 5470 and 16gb of mem.

I am flying right now and using the wireless internet onboard and I do not have a production laptop with me.
but if you go to after effects and go to the last topic on top; maybe it is “help” or about the last one across the top.
you should be able to open that pull down and there should be something there to re-activate. try about and see if it has your serial number listed. the problem is i think when you re-activate you will need to go throught the internet activation or I think you can use phone activation if you are using a offline production workstation
I have had to do it before and I remember doing it through after effects for the entire Production Suite,
not sure if this is the same for master.HOWEVER if you are connected to the internet the following is supposwe to happen

You don’t have to take any action to activate your software. Activation happens in the background as soon as the software detects an Internet connection -
I would not go as far as Harm is telling you on the Adobe forum. Just re-activate.
This is another Mac user with the same problem, it is only seeing your install as a trial versus full blown activation.

I bet you are on trial throughout your master suite

The only time I hear that the HDV presets are missing is when it is trial software.
Did you re-activate when you changed operating sys.? -

The compression of AVCHD makes it a difficult codec to edit with on anything but the fastest machines.
A good option is to use an intermediate codec like Cineform.There are different variations of the product but I am sure there is one in your budget

yes Multi-cam within premiere is the way to go. very easy to usde.
once you sync your video you just cut from camera to camrera like a llive mixer -
what version of premiere
do a four camera multi-cam edit.
all cameras run and start with a clap or a photo flash to sinc (use your markers)
once sync’d your take the sync’s sequence and move it to a new sequence and right click and sewlect multi-cam….enable the camera with the best sound.
open a multicam monitor and have a blast just clicking on the shot you want just like a live shoot. -
Are you editing DV HDV HD?
As far as inserting transitions and titles, the normal process would be to complete a good portion of your edit, save the project, the renders and take a break while you the system renders your effects.
Even the top machines need to render some effects and this is the process that we follow.
