My HDV presets are missing from PPRO CS4. They were there before. Now they’re gone.

I’ve captured off a Canon HV-20 a few times in the past and need to do it again… but my presets are gone.

The only change on my machine was that I recently upgraded the OS to Snow Leopard.

Would this have tampered with Premier?
I’m more of an After Effects guy so any help here would really be appreciated.

The only time I hear that the HDV presets are missing is when it is trial software.
Did you re-activate when you changed operating sys.?

No, I didn’t reactivate. It didn’t ask me to.

I would not go as far as Harm is telling you on the Adobe forum. Just re-activate.

This is another Mac user with the same problem, it is only seeing your install as a trial versus full blown activation.

“When i installed a trial version of Premiere CS4 on the Mac i found that in do not have a HDV sequence preset. I only have presets for SD, DVCPRO, AVCH and other presets for mobile devices, But no HDV presets”

I bet you are on trial throughout your master suite

Sorry, how does one do that?
I looked it up and can only find info on activating for the first time.

I am flying right now and using the wireless internet onboard and I do not have a production laptop with me.

but if you go to after effects and go to the last topic on top; maybe it is “help” or about the last one across the top.

you should be able to open that pull down and there should be something there to re-activate. try about and see if it has your serial number listed. the problem is i think when you re-activate you will need to go throught the internet activation or I think you can use phone activation if you are using a offline production workstation

I have had to do it before and I remember doing it through after effects for the entire Production Suite,
not sure if this is the same for master.

HOWEVER if you are connected to the internet the following is supposwe to happen

Adobe® Creative Suite® 4 and other recent releases of Adobe software
You don’t have to take any action to activate your software. Activation happens in the background as soon as the software detects an Internet connection

I am having the same issue since recently (I think after running an update). I tried de-activate and activate again but no joy. Can someone tell me what to do step by step without doing a complete re-install?

I had the same problem (using Windows 7 though) after updating to premiere 4.2.1
Apparently the update messed up the installed sequence presets.
There was a ‘setup’ to install 3d party plugins in adobe premiere folder.
    Running that fixed the problem.

I had the same problem after installing the update to 4.2.1, and I fixed the problem by going to the premier cs4 folder > setup > and run the .exe file that’s in there. This will re-install the 3rd party content and the presets for HD. the full path is C:/program files(86)/adobe/adobe premiere cs4/setup/setup.exe

Any solutions to this problem on 10.6? I am still dealing with the missing presets and I am unable to import MPEG files. Thanks for any updates.
