Actually Final Cut was never in the name. To the best of my knowledge it’s always been called SF Cutters and still is. It’s the organization that puts on the Supermeets that has changed it’s name. They just announced it at the Supermeet in San Francisco.

Choose the generic “Mac OS X” option, not the “Mac OS X v10.5” or “Mac OS X v10.6” options.

[David A Fenton] “I doubt they would have gone through the trouble of building such a robust clip based audio effects engine without intending to finish the job”

Unless they believed the job was finished.

  • Create a new track.
Move the clip you want to speed change to it.
    Lock all the other tracks.
Do a “Ripple Sequence” speed change.

    Create a new video track.
Shift drag each of the clips you want to adjust up to the new track.
Select all the clips in the new track.
    Select the slip tool.
Use “Trim Minus” and “Trim Plus” to adjust the sync of all the selected clips at once.

[Jerry Hofmann] “From the time I ingest and finish it’s faster… it’s faster to try different takes using the audition feature. I’m not waiting on a render, trimming is also fast using keyboard commands. Skimming is faster than FCP 7 for sure, as is audio scrubbing. “

Are there functions such as audio mixing that you have found take more mouse clicks/keystrokes/time to perform?

[Andrew Richards] ” I was in the beta for FCPX “

Can you give some details about your beta test experience? How long did it last, was there any back and forth communication between yourself and Apple about missing features, etc.

[Jerry Hofmann] “FCP X is the fastest NLE I’ve ever worked with…”

What aspects of FCP X makes it the fastest NLE for you?
