[Oliver Peters] “There is no mixer panel. You can mix by rubbing-banding key frames in the timeline.”

Are there keyboard equivalents to allow you to raise or lower a clip’s volume 1db or some set amount?

[John Pale] “Don’t even get me started about timecode.”

    Oh , please do.

Is there any “mixer” interface, or does all volume adjusting happen on the timeline, clip by clip, adjusting with the mouse?

[Craig Seeman] “Nothing has been “taken away” as this is all new code. Many things haven’t been added yet.”

Many functions haven’t been “taken away” from the new code, but they have been “taken away” from the latest and only version of FCP now available.

A month ago you could buy a version of FCP that could perform those functions, now you can’t.

[Craig Seeman] “Note that while Motion and Compressor have PDFs on Apple’s support site, FCPX does not. You have to use the Print command to generate a PDF. That indicates to me they’re still planing more features with more refined implementation.”

But couldn’t they just update a PDF manual when they update the software?

Did they actually have beta testers? Has anyone come forward to relate that experience? I realize that they were under NDAs during the process, but are they still forced to keep quiet?

[David Roth Weiss] “Hey Dan, long time no see… A bit of deja vue, no?”

Yeah, maybe I should dust off my old edit* machine and see if I can trade it in for the replacement editing platform that Autodesk was said they were developing back when they killed edit*.

[Andrew Richards] ” FCPX doesn’t let you define HQ, LT, or 4444 for it’s optimized media”

Does it always render to plain “ProRes 422”?

I won’t dispute what you’ve said as I have no reason to, but there are quite a few threads in this forum that convey a strong vibe that if one enjoys FCPX, or even more shocking, prefer it to FCP7, they are not true professionals (since a “real” professional could never utilize such a program).”

I haven’t gotten that vibe can you point to some examples?
