[Matt Lyon] “What steps are you taking to prep your timeline for re-capture? You might want to duplicate your timeline and delete all the audio tracks. Then try media manage–>make offline–>re-capture. I find this works reliably.”

    Thanks Matt

I was using the manage method for my test and only had the sync audio from the clips.

[Chris Kenny] “Tracks are merely one way of doing this. They are, perhaps, the most obvious way, but the most obvious way to do something is frequently not the best way.”

How is the FCPX better in your opinion?

So does this mean that there is only one TC number displayed at all times, no playhead position and duration indications simultaneously?

June 24, 2011 at 6:33 am in reply to: Cross Dissolve problem!

[Kevin P McAuliffe] “As for the audio question, first, select your two video clips, right click on each one of them, and then select “Break Apart Clip Items”.
This will separate the audio and video. Now, simply grab and drag whichever audio clip you want to overlap, over the other audio clip. Now, you’ll see a “bar” on your audio that tells you that your audio is at 0db. Simply hold “Option” on the keyboard, and you can now quickly add a keyframe to your audio track. Now, simply add another one, and set the value to 0. Hope this helps.

Is this really the easiest way to add a cross dissolve between two audio clips(Shift+E in FCP7) in FCPX?

  • [Craig Seeman] “They’ve never done a sneak peek for any product before that I know of. Apple’s marketing strategy has been changing every since Jobs started responding to emails from the public, as far as I can tell. This is new territory for them.”

They revealed the first iPhone five and a half month before it shipped.

[Mark Palmos] “FCPX would HAVE to have a way of assigning where clips are insert/overlayed because mousing about is obviously not going to be a requirement, so if you are to press F9 or F10, where does the stuff go?

I’m sure there will be track assigning ability, there HAS to be.”

From what I’ve seen, I think it’s all done with magnets.

If there’s one thing that Apple doesn’t lack it’s audacity. I think they do believe they know better than the people who deal with this for a living.

    Jeremy,

Is Episode pro needed for Fastchannel conversion from FCP, or will he standard version do?

    Thanks Walter,

Dan gave me a great demo of the 2450 last Saturday(I’m in the area on vacation), but there was only a demo unit calibrated for the filtered option.

It was shot with a RED camera at 3840×2160. The compositor does not have FCP on their system.
