    Hi All,

I need the wisdom of the crowd on this.

    The situation:
I cut a offline for a green screened, graphic intensive, 1920×1080 spot, sent the edl to the motion graphics artist who is composting the entire the entire thing in After Effects and will export the completed 60 seconds for me to lay back the audio and master to tape in FCP.

    The question:
What’s the best codec for him to use for the final render so that we can avoid gamma/color shifts resulting from the whole “AE operates in RGB/FCP in YUV” situation? I don’t have to drop the finished composite into an existing sequence and match what’s there, I just want what I’m seeing to match what he was seeing as close as possible.

    Thanks
    Dan

It was shot with a RED camera at 3840×2160. The compositor does not have FCP on their system.

Can your system handle Uncompressed 10bit 1080i footage? if so, that’s the way I’d go if the AE guy doesn’t have ProRes.
