  • Is there anyway to resycn a multicam clip?

Posted by Howard Ching on July 21, 2011 at 1:03 am

I’ve been working on a multicam project on an iMac and have just realized one of the cameras is slightly out of sycn. (well it was a bit laggy when I played it so I wasn’t aware of the unsync problem when I started.) Is there anyway to solve it without going through all the edited clip on the multicam clip?

    Thanks guys

Taken from the Resynchronizing Angles in the Viewer section of the FCP Help:

    • Double-click a multiclip in the Browser or Timeline to open it in the Viewer.

    • Hold down the Control and Shift keys, then click the angle you want to adjust and drag left or right.

    • The pointer becomes the Scrub tool. As you drag to the left or right, the video frames jog backward or forward. A box with a positive or negative offset value also appears, showing the number of frames you are adjusting this angle’s starting point relative to the others.

    • Release the mouse button.

    • The angle is now resynchronized relative to the other angles in the multiclip. If you change your mind, you can undo by pressing Command-Z.

    Thanks

but apparently it only applies before any editing work is being done
    so it’s still a bit un-sycn

    Create a new video track.
Shift drag each of the clips you want to adjust up to the new track.
Select all the clips in the new track.
    Select the slip tool.
Use “Trim Minus” and “Trim Plus” to adjust the sync of all the selected clips at once.
