There are two ways I’ve done this in the past.
Drawing splines up through the laces and sweeping them
or
I’ve extruded polygons all the way up for laces for.

Either way has worked for me, to sell it create a tiled shoe lace texture.

Make sure you are using “Flat” projection mode then rotate the projection into place with the Texture tool. As for the Alpha, load the same image with an alpha in the Alpha tab of the material.

Start with “Flat Projection” of the texture in C4D and then use the texture tool to scale it to the geometry. Consider recreating the materials in C4D.

The “cup” should be modeled used a LatheNurbs and a spline… but in your setup you could try adding a bulge deformer and see what you get. You’ll have to subdived your geometry on the face as it looks like one N-gon.

I think what you are referring to are Multi Pass Renders. Specifically Object Buffers isolate parts of the render. Or, you just hide the objects you don’t want rendered and render the scene with the objects you want.
