    The best comedy always has a grain of truth in it.

    I own an HF 400 as well and love it as a “crash” cam. The places I have placed that camera would fill a large list. Especially when paired with a Gorilla Pod. Getting back to the AG AC90 there’s one item it offers the HF400 can’t match. That is size. In this case bigger is better from a client impression standpoint. It shouldn’t be that way but it is. Everyone who works with DSLR’s has had the conversation with first-time customers to convince them that they CAN get great video from such a small item. The AG-AC90 could be a 60K camera for all the client knows and is quite capable, in most instances, of obtaining footage clients will be happy with.

  • Thanks Bob.

    Whenever I see a marketing item that has no BS in it I think of you. Then I turn around in my seat and look at the post you made in 2010 with the title…..”New to the freelancing game”.

    In my opinion that post should be required reading for everyone who’s
    just starting out…..

    Regards as always;

    Hi James;

    Thanks for the comments. The lens was the 18-55 Kit lens. Now you weren’t able to view it in large screen because I shoot this group specifically for the web at 640 x 480. Using this size I can easily blend in any 720p footage which others may shoot (by cropping to 640×360) or upsize to 720 x 480 if I get a request for an SD DVD. I was forced to use auto-iso because of the run-and-gun nature of the shoot but it works out well. By the way I also do a lot of soccer with my T3i and love watching parents who have just bought DSLR’s struggle with all of the limitations their new “dual-use cameras” present as opposed to their previous little camcorder. I have actually picked up some clients for training sessions from this.
    Another of the joys of the business. Regards; Dan

    John I thought the T3i had a manual audio setting, which overcomes the AGC, built in. I have used Lantern on my T3i but only for the automatic continuous recording.

    Would it not be simpler to generate whatever file format you find you can generate at the highest quality and send along one of the inexpensive file players that are being sold everywhere? Plus, of course, a file for PowerPoint just in case.
