Do you have to be using MXF to get the 10 bit, and if you do…
Are there any drawbacks to using MXF?

The Only Selection I have is 1:1. There is no selection for 10 or 8 bit. Do I need the DNXL card to get this ption?

I had the same problem on my avid. What worked for me was to do the same process as you described. But I was told that avid can only keep up with about 8000 files in a single Database.
Try throwing away old Precompute files and stuff you dont need. Even after this it took avid a couple tries to get straight. After that i have kept my files down to a minimum and have had no trouble since, well with that at least, its still an AVID. hope this helps.

I know it sounds simple, but it bit me once, so no offense inteneded. Make sure that if you made a black solid to check your look against or something like that that you turn it off before you render the millions+. If you have a solid background it will give you an aplha for the whole page that wont let anything thru. Again this is just a thought it had me mad as hell one night for about thirty minutes…

You might want to try just using the same title on the next layer up, not pulling the matte out of the original.Just place the on top of the original text and use opacity and blurr to get the desired efect. I have done this a couple of times as a quick fix, But i also do AE and that is the best place to get the best result.
