Are you using shots from the C100 camera? If so I read that the 25P is not really 25P but more 25i wrapped in 25P clothing so to speak.

You have to inetrepret the footage I believe..

    see if that helps…

Other option is to just render the work area I guess…

I’m quite new at PP too just letting you know!

  • wow.. ok interesting…

    Thanks Cliff…

I solved that problem now into my crashing hard drives!!

  • An update-

I think I originally imported the clips via the Data Import Utility which gives the clips those massive numbers so right now I am reimporting them thru that software.. Its gonna save me a lot of work I hope!

The other ‘findable’ files are Go Pro shots and in the edit are used in a Multi Cam sequence which is referencing the C100 Camera for audio which is why there could be a problem there… Not sure what I can do about this problem outside of manually importing the clips in and manually editing it back into the multcam sequence…

Its all theory right now but thought I would post as I’m thinking about it all…

    Thanks Chris.

I did the opposite and then relaunched holding the “option” key… problem gone as well. Premiere is certainly a different beast than what I was used to… enjoying the experience, timidly!

Ok, thanks Jeff… yeah i worked all day yesterday and whilst I had one clip that took forever to render and a strange red screen come up it still ended up all ok… So I’ll just keep on going.

    Thanks again…

    HI Jeff,

Yeah thanks for this. I do get paranoid!

I just wasnt sure what happened when I had the crash and it made a copy of just the project file. I needed to see where everything else would go after that… sure enough it goes in the original folders I set up just as you have written about.

Is it important to ‘trash’ preferences, repair permissions and delete preview files/data cache after a crash?

I dont even know how to do that to be honest but it would be good to know…

    thanks again

I just got my first one with C100 footage and the audio went strange- it played part of a track I dont even have in the sequence…. scary.

Learning on the go here, (its quite hard to search for this online!)

I can see that I can run off the saved copy and as I re-render the Original file folder is growing… so to me I am thinking the project still holds its original file structure and works in there and is LINKED to the project file back up copy…

So I think I could probably drag the back up copy back into the original folder with a new name perhaps?

Thanks Jeff… yeah which is actually, probably ok for now… but yeah I am in PAL world… but I (had) thought that gopros only did 30 fps so was trying to fit that into the shoot… clearly, they do not so problem averted!

Im shooting in 25i… really wanna try 24P but for now I am keeping it simple stoopid!

    Thanks again…
