    Hi! I would love to have a look at this solution, but the file doesn’t seem to exist anymore on the CC servers. Any chance you can share it again somehow? It would be deeply appreciated!

  • I thought I tried that but apparently not properly if so.. All good now, and I could even remove row counting etc since sourcerect is now read before animation as intended. Thanks a ton Andrei!!

    Aha, that must’ve been it, I left the print statements in the functions in.. Had no clue they could mess with functionality, I assumed since they worked in the Toolkit debug that they would be ok, but lesson learned, without them everything works perfectly. Thank you so so much Dan, you’re a true lifesaver! Do you have a donation Paypal or such? Would love to buy you a beer/coffee or two 🙂

    I’m now getting an error message for the code below on row 77, could that be the issue?

    var theComp = app.project.activeItem;

    Thank you Dan for super fast help as always!

    Unfortunately this didn’t solve the issue, it’s behaves just like before. When clicked the button remain blue as if it’s stuck in a clicked state, could that be an indicator of what’s going on perhaps?

    And the script file, couldn’t add in edit for some reason…

  • Thanks a ton Jacob! That works perfectly 😃

  • Thanks everyone for this! It works great for position, but I need to use it in the offset on a text animator, which only has one dimension, so I’ve been trying for an hour now to make it work but without any success. It’s throwing an ‘couldn’t turn result into numeric value’ on line 1 if that is any indication of what’s actually the problem..?

    Is there any kind soul out there who might be able to help me figure it out?

    Unfortunately that adds a bunch of manual work and will most likely not be as exact as it need to be, and this is a process I will be doing frequently, so I would love to find a solution using the exported 3d data. Thanks though Chris!

    Anyone have any other ideas? The all knowing Mr Ebberts perhaps? 🙂

    Thank you Chris for taking the time! Unfortunately I need to be able to follow the null in a 2D space, so your solution will not work. I should mention that the actual effect I’m using is a radial glow whose center point needs to follow an object, but I simplified the scene and used the built in circle effect since the glow is a paid plugin.
