    Hey man,

It’s in fact there in AE, you just won’t see it until you take your comp with all of the multipasses, precomp it and matte it with the rgba pass or whatever other pass you created for an alpha. The multipasses are additive and therefore kill your alpha in AE. I don’t think similar problems occur in Nuke and could check for you tomorrow. Hope this helps.

    Hey Tony,

This is very quick attempt at the bottle, ignore the sloppiness. I grabbed a side view of a bottle and brought that in as an image plane and drew a profile curve. I put that curve into a Lathe Nurbs for the main part of the bottle. For the bottom part, I used a cylinder, grabbed faces on the bottom of it and extruded those selected faces down. That polygon was then placed into a Hyper Nurbs to create the roundness. Hope this helps.

    Adam,

Great stuff as always, thank you! Wish there were more discussions on day to day stuff like this on the Cow, thanks again.

    Hey Adam,

Thanks for the response, glad someone wants to talk about best practices. We push very hard to get buy off on moves, but find quite often that many clients request pretty involved previz. In addition, cam moves seem to be a moving target all the way up to delivery. I was wondering if there were any c4d specific tricks or techniques that you and others have come up with over time through client experience. (tags, comp tricks, whatever) Thank you!

  • Two materials, flat projected, one set to back, one set to front. Try that and see if it’s what you need.

    Frank,

This is exactly what I was thinking earlier with regards to wondering why you needed to use the jpeg. I think you can get very close with a shader. Good luck!

Can you link the actual texture for download? ( I’m thinking as I type this, is there a reason you need to use a texture at all?)

    Hey Frank,
Is it possible to see the jpeg?
