I’m have a two year old…this is awesome. Great work!

  • Peter,

Apply a red, blue an green luminance material to whichever objects you need mattes for, then turn off all lights and that will render really quick. Then use the rgb mattes in your comp.

I’m wondering how I could build two shaders with different spec, reflection, bump, whatever… And then “effector” between them. Thanks!

    Hey guys,

What I need to do is flat project a show logo onto the front of a wall of cubes, it needs to appear on only the front face. The remainder of the cube needs to be one of three colors (red, green, yellow)

Right now, the red/white check pattern is only in place to check the “Fix Texture” setting, and as you can see, certain cubes are working and others are stretching the texture around the sides.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Craig

Run all your xpresso from a null in your object manager.

Don’t try to create cg smoke. Do you have any smoke footage, either from something like Compositors Toolkit or Action Essentials? If not, shoot cigarette smoke over black and comp that in. But for future shots, please follow Dave’s advice.

    Hey Brian,

I think I may have found a solution. Picture an arrow filled with 50 objects but in a grid like pattern, five rows of twenty. I drew an arrow spline and added a bunch of vertices where each cloned ball needs to appear. For the tip of the arrow, I have a second cloner setup in a pyramid shape with three vertices. Both clones are set to object clone onto the combined arrow spline with a follow spline tag….which then in conjunction with a spline wrap, spins them around the circle….whew! Haha.

MoText has a depth function built in. Are you trying to put a spline into an extrude?

Tried this setup but dont think I’m setting it up properly. What does your object manager look like? Thank you!
