Don’t know how you lost the tilde key !!!!,,, but you could go into Keyboard Shortcuts and allocate something else to that purpose.

Start with ..what do you want the video for…eg what display purpose how / where?

What is your edit sequence settings?

I am guessing right now..you may not need an avi.

You dont use a DV Preset If you want 1080p HD.

Export using a H264 Youtube Preset

Also do some of the basic Premiere Tutorials – ADOBE TV for a head start.

Its not blacks per se that appear transparent.ie have tranparency.

Its an alpha channel. They may seem to be “black” in Premiere if they are not overlayed on another image layer.

You create a graphic in Photoshop and start with a Transparent BG.
You then export it “with transparency” ie a PSD or a png etc…

What kind of files are you expecting the client to send you?

Around these parts ..we send the client files. That’s why they come to us….and why we stay ahead of the game with current versions of software etc.

  • You will get a lot faster when you get it right first time.

    Just messin’ with ya!

You did apply them one by one so fixing them the same way is the only way really.

For me..I do Cross Fades in the Audio Track Mixer (Automated Write /Read)

FWIW – If I add fade-outs to tidy up ends of audio clips…I check they work as I do them.

  • Select all the clips in the BIN that you wish to have any kind of Master Clip effect applied to. eg a LUT.

You can do it one by one to any Source Clip in the Source Monitor as well.

  • FWIW – long time Premiere user (professional)

I prefer to open ( ie. reopen – dble click tilte from timeline or bin) any title to manipulate it so that it basically has a default anchor point position in the frame positioned to a design plan…and any subsequent key framing or whatever is easily managed.

Working ( designing) to underlying video tracks displayed in the Titler is so much easier to design when all is in a set default position.

example – Create title centred ..then use Motion from clip in timeline to manipulate it to bottom right corner . Need to edit the title (say.. change a font and add a line)..open it and edit it and its in the centre while doing so. Does it work or not???

  • Not sure why you are using an IN Mark for Synching.

Use a MARKER on Video and another on Audio Clip ( eg clapper video and audio) then the line up will Display an dconfirm when aligned.

IN points and OUT Points do display differently and logically as regards playheads( hopefully).

The IN ..includes that incoming frame so is “left of it”
The OUT…includes that outgoing frame and so is “right of it”

Only noticeable if you are zoomed right in on a timeline to frame level.

First issue seems to be Yosemite OS update related ITs all over these forums.

2nd Issue. Are you dragging and dropping with ALT key ( or MAC equivalent)? That will duplicate a clip.
