I second scene detect as the best option with a good naming protocol.

I create column in the Project window called ‘Delete’

As I view and name clips (‘Comments Column)I mark the “Deletes” with a ‘D’ then Unlink the media from the Project ( using the remove from Hard disk option also). I use a sort on the Delete column to get the ‘D’s together and mass remove them from Project and Drive at the same time.

I think this is faster than batch capture in this instance.

DVdate is the Prem plug in and it works a treat.

Very good value, low cost, customiseable.

Recapturing them may not help the audio problem if you captured from a dv source ( stream)

Capture & edit in dv format because PremPro is not an mpeg editor. (You will get issues if you try to edit mpegs)

Workflow with Encore :Many ways to do this but…

For me, I edit and complete work in PremPro ( export an avi movie)

I then have an option of Converting the avi to an mpeg (Mainconcept Encoder) or importing the avi as an asset firectly into Encore.

Encore can work with both (plus QT). Advantages to both methods. I prefer to take an mpeg into Encore because I can check it first and that eliminates one step of problem solving if they occur in the process.

Not sure I understand Anarav

The poster wanted to recapture clips already in the bins ( for some reason).

If you select a clip in the bin by right clicking on it, you can not recapture it by batch process in the manner you suggested.
Well I certainly can not on my setup because it is greyed out and I have always exported a Batch list for this purpose.

We may be talking at cross purposes ?

That option will be greyed out I believe.

So select clips in Project window >Project Menu > Export Batch List etc….

You need to shoot the bg footage exactly how it would be seen from the cameras point of view for the foreground image with the car and the actor. Same lens, lens height and direction but minus the f.g elements of course.

Remember the bg image is unlikely to be totally stable so put some car movement into your f.g shot.

Direction tip: I love the shots when the actor turns his attention away from the road for long, long,long periods of time …and he never crashes.
