I shoot on Sony A7s 60fps at 125. Lately i have been changing my shutter speed to 160 or to 100 and it seems to take care of most of the flicker but there is still some visible.

i ended up paying the $39 euros to Grau GmbH
That will cover 5 file recoveries, it fully recovered my file.
there are 2 little video glitches right at the end but the rest of it is all there.

The video gets stuck on a frame as it still plays. Audio is also gone at this point. It continues to play, i dont get an error or anything, i didnt get an error in fcpx when i imported and transcoded.
i am trying aero Quartet now to see if they can fix it.
its wedding video, its the ceremony and cuts out right before vows. Luckily i had my Zoom externally pick up the audio so i can fake it if i have to. The next file pick up as they exchange rings.

Aero Quartet wants $99 to fix a file which in most cases is king of ludicrous but in this case, the ceremony, vows. Ouch!
    Im exploring other software
    Grau GmbH
    and others.

I have this other software CardRescue https://www.cardrescue.com/
just had the demo to see if it even found any .mov files.
It found all the .mov files so in order to finish the final step you have to purchase the software. $40.
Not much considering its a wedding and the lost footage was part of the ceremony.
Out of 139 .MOV files only 4 were not retrievable.

I will fully endorse this software. Not that i wont endorse Stellar Phoenix because that works great too.

Now that i have the footage back, does anyone have an explanation of why this happened. Just a Glitch? I cant deal with this on a regular basis.

This sort of thing seems to happen a lot to me. I broke down and got stellar Phoenix recovery. It works really well on cf cards as long as you didn’t format them after the shoot. We have 2 mark II 5D’s and a 7D. Seems like every wedding or big event we have a problem with at least one card.
Can you still see the pics on the camera? What type of cf card reader are you using? Did it eject properly.
