My source files are avi, but the files are too big and take up too much ram on my midi controller (vj work). I want to output as .mov, but i don’t want to loose quality when i blow it up to 10 foot x 10 foot. I don’t see wehre you change to output ration to 1 by 1.

I’ve been using Shrink, but like I said I’ve been doing this for almost 2 years now and have never had this happen. I still had the project from last night open and one of the VOB files was still in the timeline, that’s when I dragged the next one over and starting having the “drop” error. I’ve tried everything before posting here. It’s like something hit my computer today. I have even started running my spyware programs thinking it was something to do with that. I even thought it was something to do with VLC I downloaded the other day, so I removed that. Again, I’ve done this same process for well over 2 years with no flaw and have been using the created VOB files in Vegas 8 no problem.

Not yet. I’m about to uninstall Vegas 8, clean the registry and go back to 7. Right now the vobs aren’t opening in 7 or 8. I have never seen anything like this happen and it really has me up in arms.

Mike, thanks for the reply but that’s no good either. Right when I click DVDCamcorder I receive this message “An error ocurred opening one or more of the files. Application key not allowed”. Why would this work for days, weeks, months and now it’s shite?

I just checked all of my .mov and .avi files and they all still import correctly. I am literally almost in tears here. I have unistalled and installed again…still the same dumb error. God I am hoping someone here can help me or else I’m screwed.

Thanks for the answer. Forgot about the sound elements I’m adding. They are various Kubrick film samples that I’m dropping on top of the film. I got it to to work last night, thanks.

I think your solution of moving the project file and then re-attaching the files is the best solution. Thanks for your help, I will get on this during my lunch break and let you know how it goes.

Is there anything to tell what file is bad from the error message or log files? If so, maybe I can delete the file and then try to open the project.

Trying to think of ways around this.
