auto white balance, auto flicker remover, and shadow restorer just set the gamma clamp so that the top text layer(its off default) shows 25. then the flicker gets removed plus the shadows repaired. I’ve used it on some destroyed 8, 16mm stuff, and it works perfect.

https://www.mediafire.com/?fz0s3i85a45ou58it uses AE’s shadow highlight effect automatically. you can use it manually on your own, too. More things you can do are AE’s remove grain then the unsharp effect. finally, some technicolor put back in because technicolor footage often gets washed out.

if you have a color managed monitor, then simply use AE’s utility-profile color converter and set it to the same as your monitor, then even if color management is off in AE, it will match PPro because it’s now the same as your monitor’s profile. You’ll know its successful in AE when you turn off color management and apply the effect and there’s no change at all.

ae projects work in mac/pc crossplatform. there’s a top text layer over a solid hidden with the shy button. and you simple right click the footage replace with your own.

chroma smoother – smart blurs only the saturation channel, so there’s zero blurring on the actual rgb(compared to remove grain plugins). It fixes minor DCT blockyness and grainy footage. set black mask at 99.99.

you just need to set the white point. don’t create a curve, just move the top point to the left or use an eye dropper in color finesse for white point. This way you’ll keep contrast and detail. Keep metering separately because you need to record an acceptable exposure latitude that your camera can pick up fine detail. Then the white point gets adjusted in post to match the white board. For example: legal broadcast luma value.

https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/50/857931#857958if you un-hide the final output comp, and enable the top empty text layer, it will show numbers in your comp. If it says around 25 (+-5 deviation) from gamma clamp slider, the flicker will be removed automatically.
it may need a new keyframe for a new scene to scene change, but for the most part, it’s fully automatic. obviously before you render, turn the text layer off.
also, if you’re interested, I made a highlight restore program that recovers blown out spots in video >2x adobe’s RAW capability too.
