Now only if someone could enlighten us to If the euphonix board will EVER be used. Seems like both sides are pointing to eachother and no one is doing a damn thing. I would love to know if there is any movement on this.. otherwise most of us will be selling the euphonix board while they are worth something.
If they will only be used with color then I suspect their value will drop like a rock.
Both sides need to speak up. AVID needs to say something.. and same with BMD. Pointing to each other and stating that its their responsibility and not saying anything is not very professional. -

Another thing i thought of was. The ATI card is a dual width card.. can the single width 4000 go in slot 2 or something? are they both 16x?

This is indeed good news.. but what is the down side? Do you loose any functionality? Were you making use of both cards cuda abilities?

Both systems have their good and bad points. And most professionals have more then a few tools in their kit bag! Right tool for the right job. Color does somethings fast and dirty.. Resolve does great tracking and keying. Nuke does compositing and such. Hell maybe using AE’s roto brush to make mattes for resolve will be fun. Point is nothing wrong with using many tools to get the job done. In the end it makes your job easier and less tedious.

Maybe not AJA but thats no excuse for AVID now owning Euphonix to pony up the support.

What kinda speeds do you need for working with say an HD or 2k or even 4k DPX do you think on average?
Is like 312Mb/s R/W ok? Or are we talking like 500Mb/s and up speeds? -
