If you have encore – don’t bother with Toast. With Toast 9 and higher, you need to buy a plug-in or patch to burn Bluray.

    But Encore is FAR better.

You can use a ref file from FCP if you want to. In either case, export a file from FCP, drop it into AME.

Choose the Mpeg2 Bluray preset in AME.
Import the files into encore, set your first play, preview and burn.

Can you let them deal with it?
Tell em it’s 60i, convert it to your needs if you want to.?

Otherwise try compressing it out to a 25p file.

    Your best bet:
If you already have the material shot in interlace:

    Edit interlaced.

    Exporting to Bluray? Keep Interlaced.
    Exporting to DVD Keep Interlaced.

    Exporting to Web DE-interlace here!

    Otherwise – shoot progressive.

  • And did you try dropping the 29.97 footage into your 24p sequence and see how it looks?

  • You can also see the “end file size” estimate when setting the data rate. Just dial it in so it fits…

Shoot with a flat, muted color profile.
They were going with a late 70’s feel and vibe there.

May 23, 2012 at 9:52 pm in reply to: P2 import general error

As far as your error goes,…
Did you off-load the P2 cards onto the computer first?
Did you use a verify copy program like P2CMS or ShotPut Pro?

    Then,

    Import into APP.

With clip in the Proj. panel, “Cntrl” click on em (can do many at once)
Modify – And deselect the 2 audio tracks you don’t want active.
Then drag em into the sequence.
