Change your VBR to 2 pass.
You may just be seeing stuttering from the 24p.

What I mean is: – – – Don’t judge your video on the adobe program monitor!
Export a file and play it back on the laptop or computer screen and it will look great.
Doing any kind of deinterlacing or extra compression steps are not nessesary or what you want to do.
Shoot progressive, edit progressive, you let Pr match sequence settings
You good to go.Export from Pr select your settings, I run with .h264, .mp4 HD 6000kb

Hang on to it for the occasional SD only job or just sell it or donate it to a school/college/church.
I’m sure it has made you some money over the years.
Can’t think of a good use for SD cams anymore…

It’s just the Pr playback on the computer screen.
View on an external video monitor.
Compress out a file and playback and it’ll be fine.Chris

Being new to the camera and shooting kids (very active) getting into the menu switching formats might be the last thing you want to deal with on the fly like that. Shoot all 720, make it easy. JMO

Ya, the Prores codec is not free, there are apps to buy which come with it.
Sending to cue using AME is nice for cueing up several vids to render, also does not tie up Pr.
Use the Avid codex Dnx, it’s just as good and versatile.

I’ve run into this issue as well.
Had to export the audio only to a mixdown track and import that back in for final exporting.
