My Lectrosonic wireless is my first go to.
    Then I have a Sennheiser G3.

Look to ebay for affordable Lectrosonic wireless. You won’t be disappointed.

Working with the native format is best with APP.
You need a fast machine and a fast raid array for media.

Apple pro res HQ is a fine choice for now.

Thinking long term though, FCP is EOL.
If you end up on a machine years down the road with FCP, you’ll need to acquire the ProRes codec to read those archives. But if you know this going forward it’s not a big deal.

I am mixing an avi file and a dvcpro HD file

What is your sequence? A DVCPROHD? 1080?

I am adding neat video noise reduction
This will add to it for sure.

    How long is the video?

What is your master ped set at?
    Using a certain scene file?

I think the 300 is a bit noisy in general.

October 25, 2012 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Final Cut 7 stuttering playing prores 422 LT

Is “3 Scratch Drive” where the files are?
    Is this a 7200RPM drive?
ProRes LT is not very taxing, it should play fine even 1080/60i

    How full is the drive?

Do you have an external FW drive to try?

[Aharon Rothschild] “I think setting the intermediate format to something non-lossy like pro-res might improve on this but I’m really not sure.”

Not true as Premiere does not refer to the intermediate format unless you want to use them, otherwise it referrers back to the original raw files when exporting/mastering.

You’ll need to use an app that can read the flash file and convert it to a quicktime for editing.

    Look at:

    Adobe Media Encoder
