I think there is a way to make it work.
There was something you could download with that version of FCP and then you could “Import” P2 First look under file import and see what you have.Chris Tompkins

Select all the clips in P2CMS.
Choose Export.

I am taking delivery of this cam in a day or so. I am interested in this feature for sure. I was going to shoot some footage and try it out.

P2CMS is free from Panasonic. Have you tried viewing files with that?

I have not heard of these b/4. This looks interesting. Maybe call them and confirm a return policy first.
There is nothing wrong with always lighting for 5600k in most cases.It’s a good deal if they are of decent quality.

You need a Video I/O card for this.
Alternatively you can output your HD timeline to a file and drop that into Compressor and create a 16X9 SD file and bring that back into FCP and lay out to SD tape.

1) Monitor setup: I think most use a dual comp. monitor setup, get your self a couple of 19-20″ monitors. You’ll do fine.
2) Playback monitor: An ext. video monitor isn’t crucial but necessary if you want to accurately monitor your video, esp. for broadcast work. FCP will display your timeline video full screen on one of the comp. monitors too..
3) Speakers: Subs are generally NOT recommended. Your not truly monitoring your audio for general A/V editing. Get a Mackie Mixer. Get a capture card from decklink. Feed your audio to the mixer and out to an amp/audio receiver and to some good audio monitors, not self powered.
4) Keyboard: Purely a matter of personal prefs if you want the mapped out color coded keyboard.
5) Card reader: You can get a card reader cheap and it’ll plug in USB OR you can bring in the media off the camera. Always off load the entire card structure. Verify, back it up. Ingest into FCP via L&T from the Hard Drive Not the cam.

You can only shoot SD to tape w/ the 200.
SIDE CROP:
Recorded in the regular 4:3 aspect ratio.
The left and right edges of the image are cut.LETTER BOX:
Recorded in the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Black bands are recorded at the top and bottom of the image.SQUEEZE:
The recorded images are squeezed horizontally so that they are shown as 16:9 images on a compatible wide-screen television.
