What are you trying to create here?
What is deliverable.

Edit your video till it;s complete/done/approved/locked. Interlaced.
If your going to DVD -Leave it interlaced.
Going to web? When you compress for web, deinterlace.

What is your deliverable?

In the Deck Menu, you need to set the FW output to the specs of the tape.
IE: DVCPRO.
Then in the FCP capture settings, they have to match what you shot.
Doesn’t the deck LCD show the format when it’s playing the tape?

Don’t “de-interlace” when exporting from FCP.

Export “Current Settings”

Don’t cross-post. You received replies on the FCP basic forum where you first posted your question.

Shoot NTSC
Shoot 60i
Get the canon plugin.
L&T to Prores.
Export your edit.
Compress the file for DVD.

You Shot HD Interlaced.
Edit HD Interlaced.
Export “Current Settings”

Take that file into a compression program and create your deliverable such as Web, DVD, iPhone, whatever.

This is where you deinterlace in the process, when you are compressing to the deliverable.

you need to stay under 4.3GB in size.
Have you:

Exported from FCP using “Current Settings” ?
Drop that file into Compressor.
Choose a DVD preset.
Adjust frame control and data rates?

Do you have chapter markers in the FCP sequence?
They should follow the file.
