Change your sequence compressor/codec to 8 bit uncompressed and fully render all.
Much cleaner.

Do they want the footage keyed out to overlay on a webpage????

You key out your quicktimes in AE or FCP or Avid or APP.

Export to Prores 4444 or animation w/ alpha.
Compress to .SWF file with alpha for the web.

They’ll need flash to do the rest.

If your footage is interlaced it will not look good on a computer screen as they only display progressive.

Don’t deinterlace that DV footage if going to DVD.

Deinterlace it when you create a delivery for web or comp. screen.

After you export “Current Settings” from the FCP sequence.

You then need to create dvd compliant files.

Or are you creating a Data DVD?????
If so, A high-res file will not play smooth off a disc. They’ll need to drag the file OFF the disc before playback.

Now, DVDSP can create the dvd video for you upon import but not with great results.
Before you import your QT’s, go into the preference/settings of DVDSP and set setup the conversion settings to create the mpreg files for you.

Better still, use a compression program to create the mpeg2 files.

Why are you putting 720 clips in a 1080 sequence and then selecting a 720 compressor?

This makes no sense.

What are your sequence size and specs now?

What is your final web delivery size?

720X480?

Try a new sequence with:

1280X720
DVCPROHD
24p
progressive(none)

Also, your stills may be n the large size, you could drop in PhotoShop and downsize them a bit to like 2500 on the long size. This would still allow for moves.
Make sure your stills are 72 DPI and RGB.

When the edit is locked/down/final I would change the sequence compressor to Prores HQ OR 10 bit uncompressed, re render all final.

Export using “Current Settings”
drop that file into your compression program for delivery.

How large a file do you have when completed?

VBR, 1 pass, Min. 2.50, Target 4.20, Max 600 Mbps

Target 4.20 seems a bit low for a 1 hour.
Also, 2 pass VBR, best will always be better.

Inch up your data rate until you’re hitting the 4.2GB mark or so.
This will give you the best quality you can fit on a DVD-R.
