Never mind i just read the rest of your post… Well basically Thats not makign sense for a project Im working on. I got a at with the format “non millions colors + ” and it looks great. When i compress it to 10bit or even 8 bit i get horrible banding of colors.

Thanks! when a QT has a format of “none millions of color +” what is that? bit depth wise?

Hey I did get it thanks! I needed to change my seq setting to 59.95! makes so much sense now.
Jeremy.. remember awhile back we were talking about what was the best codec for me to use on my system? You suggested dvc pro hd and another person had suggested Pro Res(HQ) I did a few tests and I found that on both that when I added a transition/text I got an orange bar and dropped some frames on playback Is this most likely for all real time codec? Also what kind of system would you recommend for working with uncompressed rt?

Well the original source footage was an image seq (maya) and it was compressed as aja 2vuy. I then compressed it as uncompressed 8 and I’m working with that now.

I am using compressor and in compressor i am changing the size and adding the Sorenson codec

Thank you so much! I have an m2v file that is 4:3 and in dvd studio pro it looks weird because the rest of my footage is 16:9 should i just re compress it in compressor?
