December 11, 2010 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Printing disk labels with Epson Stylus 1400Can you go to page setup? I have an Epson r1800… And the setting you are supposed to use is the A4 paper size… There is also an option for A4 DVD/CD . Perhaps this helps.

DId you try: WINDOW>Workspace>Reset Palette locations?
Or did you press “F”
I’m on a Mac and have an older version of photoshop… So this may not work for you.

Are you by chance using shadows in FInal Cut…
I was having similar issues, turns out I should not be adding shadows in FInal CUt to transparent objects (especially without well defined edges) like smoke, etc… I am adding them directly in Motion, and that really helps tremendously.

Here is a trick I use in older versions of Photoshop (where you cannot select multiple layers)…
1. What I do is make a new bin…
2. Then, starting with the bottom most layer you want to move into the bin, (as an example, Layer 1) option-click between layer 1 and 2, and continue to do this to all of the layers you need to move.
You may see some funky stuff happen (basically your making the first layer a mask to the rest of the layers you option click).
Now, move just layer 1 into the bin… And all of the other layers that you option-clicked should follow. Now just option click between layer one and two… and viola, everything should go back to normal.
This works assuming that all of the layers you want to move are sitting either above or below each other.

Select just your object with the mask. Go to Pathfinder and locate the “Crop” button and click. That should do the trick.

Did you try to “Select All” and then paste? Perhaps that will work.

In the Actions panel, next to each step, there are little checkmarks with empty boxes to the right. Click on the little empty box next to the save step and run the action again. It will then bring up the save as window.
Lets say you want to tweak a filter while the action is running, you can check off any step… and it will let you modify it without actually making changes to the action (as long as you aren’t recording).
