October 7, 2015 at 6:03 pm in reply to: How do I replace a pre-cut audio clip? quick advice needed!Hey, I realize this is an old post, but I was looking for a solution to this… And I found a very simple one.
If you have Quicktime 7, open your new audio and the original video file. Then select all of your audio and Copy it.
Then in the video file, hit Command-J and delete the audio track. Place the playhead at the very beginning and go to Edit>Add to Movie.
Playback to make sure your audio is in sync.
And then save. It will automatically update in your sequence.
Here is where I got the solution from.

I believe that you need to add the transition to both the video clip and the mask….

Here are requirements of a a few stations I upload to:
(this is for tv commercials though, not programming)
If your spot is in High Definition, please use the following file format:
MPEG2 / .m2t
(Note: this is not just any Mpeg2, it is Mpeg2 “t”, not “v”).
· 1280×720
· 720P @ 59.94 fps
· 25 Mbits/s Constant Bit Rate
· Multiplexed w/AC3 Audio (Stereo or Multi-Channel)If your spot is in Standard Definition, please use the following file format:
MPEG2
· 720×480
· 12 Mbits/s Constant Bit Rate
· Multiplexed Audio
· 6/1 I-Frame Configuration—
Others just prefer .mov which I deliver with h.264 compressor, leave the bit rate blank, key frames automatic, frame rate as is, and quality between high and best. I usually do this w/QT conversion, but I am uploading 30″ to 1″ spots, so it doesn’t really take too much time…

They also state:
When producing HD Spots, be sure to have the production company keep all essential elements such as Logos, Graphics and Main Video elements within the Standard Definition 4:3 safety area.
This is to ensure that viewers that are still on Standard definition cable or Satellite are able to view all the main elements of a spot.
Any elements outside the 4:3 safety area will only be seen on True HD Monitors connected to a regular antenna, HD Cable or HD Satellite and Standard Television sets connected to a convertor box.

Yes… you would use the Media Manager… Look at the FCP manual on how to use.

April 16, 2011 at 4:37 pm in reply to: reconnect media to different audio tracksWhen you say “reconnect” do you mean “link”? In this case… If I understand you correctly, then you need to unlink your audio from your video (option-L) then select your new audio and video, and hit option-L again. when you unlink, you will see that your video clip will lose the underline underneath the file name. Once you re-link, the line will re-appear.
This will link them in FCP, but it won’t replace the original audio in the original video mov. To do this, you’d have to export a movie from FCP.

Method 1:
This is for video right? (i’m guessing because of the size) Make a new file, using the video preset that matches your settings (I think in your case it would be PAL D1/DV, 720×576 (with guides)). Then drag your logo into your new psd file and scale it down until it fits, using shift to maintain ratio. Then Flatten. save as psd. (if it has a transparency, you can make an alpha channel and have a completely flat psd, much smaller size) or just leave the transparent logo on it’s own, delete any empty layers.Method 2: Crop it…
go the the crop tool… there should be an option to enter your exact pixel width and height… then select the area you want to crop, hit enter and viola. it will scaled down everything… But I think the 1st method is best because of the pixel aspect ratio.
Make sure you save-as so you don’t save over your original.

Go to your FCP Preferences and, if it’s checked, uncheck “abort capture on dropped frames”
