Rather than using normal motion blur, have you tried adding the “CC Force Motion Blur” effect, either underneath your zaxwerks & glow effects, or in an adjustment layer above the zaxwerks/glow layer? It will slow your render down but might solve this problem.

I saw very similar things with my setup. Unfortunately I was never able to resolve it. My solution was to rent a EOS Rebel T2i for that project, and I just bought my own T3i for future projects.

Perhaps someone more experienced with cameras and lenses might be able to provide a better solution – But I just couldn’t get it to work right – And I was using it for Chroma Key so that grain was a real show-stopper.

Thanks for the answers guys. Nobody asked me to “fix” it because I don’t think anyone’s been made aware there’s a problem. It just looks terrible IMO, and I suspect if I just make the normal NLE edits I was brought on to make, they will send it back with a “why the hell does this look so bad” note attached.

Perhaps on delivery of the edited version I will include a preemptive disclaimer attributing the effect to his choice of wardrobe.

It does seem to be luminance based, and I tested Dave’s suggestion on a couple of frames and it works, but that’s incredibly tedious and unless they pay for it, it’s really “not my job” at this point. 🙂

It’s coming from the DV camera it was recorded on. I can see it even when the camera is hooked up to a monitor.

I tried exactly the same thing you describe, but my track markers are locked for some reason unless I move them individually.

It lets me select them, but not move them. When I try to drag them, they’re locked in place.

I tried the import you suggested, and get the same error message. Then the new project has an empty folder with the name of the project file.

I notice that my .aep file is now 38 KB, I seem to remember it being several hundred kb before.

It could be the Wireless Mouse 5000 simply won’t take another mouse’s driver. 🙁

And in some of my tests to find a mouse that worked, the mouse stopped working altogether, forcing me to resort to keyboard shortcuts to continue.

The only problem with this solution on my end so far is that the scroll wheel acceleration is way too high, and changing it in settings has no effect.

Sorry it didn’t work for you – You may just have to bite the bullet and get a different mouse. Sucks.
