It’s a handy NLE for a photographer, I know two of them who like FCPX a lot, and being on a Mac it’s a no-brainer. FCPX really shines in that kind of job, since it seems to be helpful for those cutting not very complex pieces. Now that photography is granted with video production capabilities, the ones on Macs are a perfect target for FCPX, although when they find its limits it can be disappointing, even who isn’t well acquainted in video editing.

Technically speaking, a big company lays out its strategies much further in time. Who is in charge doesn’t matter in this regard, as the company’s CEOs will have to comply with the Board’s goal. Even Steve Job’s ideas and leadership couldn’t have gone anywhere if they didn’t resonate that. Job’s compliance with the App Store only confirms it. And so does Cook’s excellence in overall management. Apple’s strategies are explicitly aimed at mobile computing and the CEO’s task is to work it all out and also convey the message to the public, as Mr. Jobs did, and so will Mr. Cook. Both work differently, but towards the same goal. That’s the truth, unfortunately.

Mr. Cook is in charge for a long time now, many years before Mr. Jobs passed away last year.

They care about the MacOS as long as this transitional period goes on. And Lion is a step in the direction of the unification of both MacOS and iOS. Of course, it cannot just happen overnight, hence the transition we’re experiencing. This perception is clear to everyone who’s paying attention to what’s being told by Apple.

As it is much disregarded by all these media discussions here also, in how big the gaming industry has grown in the past few years. It should be noted that, even Apple’s iDevices are riding that gravy train, as well.

Sure, I stand corrected, there’s great use for all iDevices in a professional environment. But, I am not disputing this fact, I’m arguing that Apple’s focus shifted from the niches of content producers, and also science researchers, to a broader set of clients. Nice profit move, and if you are a shareholder, that’s great news! But go ask an owner of a XServe, or a Final Cut Server, how do they feel about Apple today…Not quite happy. Do you really think that your pumped-up Macmini dream is going to live up to do those jobs?
Pros don’t blame iPads, iPhones, iPods and iMacs, they blame Apple’s lack of commitment to them.
And they have all the rights to do so, because Apple have strongly relied on them in the recent past.
That is what I was responding to, actually. The problem isn’t in developing an iDevice per se. Or how useful, or successful, it is in some professional workflows. The problem is in how Apple managed to wipe out its clients.(cue to a reminder of how this has happened before, Discreet, etc…I don’t get this, just because there were murderers in a killing spree before, nobody is supposed to feel sorry for the ones that got whacked today?)

I know you’re joking, but I don’t get it. Pros have never complained about “iDevices” per se. Their grunt was how these consumer products have eclipsed their professional line of products. Apple has had a lot of support from folks who had chosen to work on their platform in order to make possible their own success.
