The fact is, we do have to cope with FCPX…And learn the Triple-F-Mantra, just keep telling yourself that:

Pretend you are a website publisher, and then your site is a media sponsor for a conference. Later, you write about that same conference, are you going to lie about the content of one of the keynotes? Being an attendee and a sponsor? That’s unlikely in my book. So, there you have it.

You’re right, but the writer of this article is the publisher of that same website, which is one of the sponsors of the conference.

So, while I agree that there was no quote, I am convinced that “something” was said in that regard.

From the ashes of Soundtrack Pro, FCPX has incorporated some of its features, but still some will argue that it doesn’t live up to its fellow “studio pro app”. For example, reducing background noise is not as good as it was before. Had Apple developed an updated studio pack, we’d have the best of both worlds.

I’m not sure if you had investigated this enough on Avid. Let me clarify, Avid had always supported 24 tracks of audio, granted it only allows 16 to be monitored and to be used at the mixer, all due to hardware limitations. But, for that matter, FCPX doesn’t even have a mixer for riding audio levels, and it also has other limitations (like you cannot expand the “timeline” in fullscreen) So, if it has a faster waveform build, allows more than 24 and has some nice features with effects, that doesn’t mean it is better than Avid in this regard. It all depends on the workflow, as always. I strongly suspect that will change in the coming years, and we will be able to verify which solution is going to be more constrained. And I bet it will be FCPX.
