Related question (I just switched last week from Maya):
The plug-in Axis center. Does that reset the object axis to the dead center of the bounding box? Like Maya’s ‘Center pivot’ command? I wonder why this wouldn’t be standard as part of the app itself.

When you turn on time reamp, there are two keyframes. This creates a linear, real time flow for your clip to replicate normal 100% speed. So first, preserve this where you want 100 percent.
Say you want the last 20% of the clip to be 100% speed. add a keyframe on the last 20% mark. Select the last two keys (the new one and the last one). And move them later in time so that the first 80% plays slow. If you render this, the clip will play slow at a a steady speed, then when it hits the middle keyframe, it will play normal speed. So now, select the middle keyframe and using animation assistant, set it to ease in. So that there is a smooth curve going into this. Try rendering this. You may want to tweak the curve a little to your liking.

The motion source would be the zit layer because it is deriving it’s motion from that. The target layer should be the null.
As far as the pasting, you need to select position parameter on the motion track layer before hitting copy, then selecting the position paramter of the null before hitting paste. If it’s pasting the whole layer than the layer is what was selected when you hit copy.

In the ad game, everything is DVD now. Easier, better quality. In addition most ppl can and will play it in their laptops as there are fewer and fewer VHS decks around.

I’d ask what their budget is for effects and decide how much work or quality you are willing to work for, for that time.
For example if they have $30k you can then say “I’ll do 20 shots seamlessly or I’ll do all of them at an “indie quality”.
The point being, see what money is on the table, examine the level of work you’ll have to do and do what is fair for the both of you. I don’t think standard day rates are necessary in this situation.
