As far as I’m aware, it’s stand alone. I save my titles as AVI, then add the file to my project media bin.

Thanks for the advice and comparison, Lance

As you say, yes it would appear it will be necessary to adapt to a different way. Pros and cons with both software. I certainly am happy with the way I can do what I loke with the audio tracks in Vegas – I do tend to use a lot of individual audio in some of my projects.

I’ve downloaded the trial of PPro, and have just discovered that I need Win 7. My editing computer is a very good and fast Dell with 5 large external hard disk drives, but I’m running XP Pro. I do have win 7 ultimate on my laptop, but with limited disk drive resouce.

A lot to consider, if I do make the change.

    Once again – thank you

Thanks all for your comments. I’ve been more than happy with Vegas so far, but it appears ver 11 has let us down. I think I’ll take your advice and wait till ver 12 comes out next year, unless Sony does improve with it’s current version and then offer us an upgrade at e reduced cost. Once again – thank you – a great forum – learning a lot from it. Chris Siers – Chrisandra Video Productions

Thanks to all for your advise and help.
I’ve re installed Vegas, and guess what – Ultimate and Scattershot now work. I’ve now got to start working out how to use Scattershot for next week’s edit!!
    Once again – Thank you

    Thanks John,
I’ve always bought and downloaded from the Sony site, but I’m certain that the upgraded version looks for an older version (I might be wrong).
I understand now that I needn’t install the 3 freebies. I’m still faced with the original problem of installing Ultimate. When I press the .exe button I am told that it cannot find a copy of vegas, so therefore will not install.
For your information, Vegas, and all my video files are installed on another drive (not C). Could that effect the installation ?

    Thanks for the advice.
If I uninstall/reinstall, will my upgrade download work. I’ve used Vegas since vegas6, but as I upgrade each version, I remove the previous. From memory, when you install an upgrade, it generally looks for a previous version

The VASST programs I got last week are Scattershot 3D (which is the one need more than the others at the moment), Ultimate S Pro, DVDPrep, CopyWriter and PIP Selector

Thanks for the advice. You were quite correct in assuming I didn’t have an ASIO card. After reading your response, I went out and purchased one – now all works good.
