Put your footage into Compressor, and go to “advanced format conversion,” there are a number of presets there.

You can up rez your footage with Compressor, it is slow though. But it works.

I have tried and tried to animate exactly the kind of things you are doing, and it always is choppy. It and the motion tab just suck for this. I’m afraid it’s a Motion or After Effects job.

Keyframing in FCP is abysmal ESPECIALLY the ease feature. You should check out Fotomagico yourself!

Amy, FYI Fotomagico is extremely adjustable in the length of each still. You can select them all and make them all the same, so timing is VERY easy. It also auto-animates if you want. The fastest solution bar none.

Hi Amy,

I would recommend you look at Fotomagico. It is a far better interface than Moving Picture, very easy to use. You can work in your final rez no problem, and spit out SD sized movies for your offline. I use it with FCP all the time. Huge timesaver.
