  • Boris 3D Title/Keyframed Effects Issue

I use Boris 3D Title within FCP to create simple text. The issue presents itself when I try to animate the title. For instance, I’ll adjust the tracking with keyframes so the text starts with very wide spacing, then animates closer together. When I render, it executes the move properly, but the end result is totally unusable. The movement is choppy and looks like… well, crap.

I figure I must have a setting wrong. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jeff,

I have tried and tried to animate exactly the kind of things you are doing, and it always is choppy. It and the motion tab just suck for this. I’m afraid it’s a Motion or After Effects job.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Hi Jeff,

Use Motion with the Text Tracking behavior. Very simple to set up.

    All the best,

    Tom & Chris,

Thank you gentlemen. I guess it’s time to delve deeper into Motion.

    Cover me… I’m goin’ in.
