I don’t know that deck, but with the cameras I have used there’s a menu setting to downconvert to DV.

140mbs? I get more than that on my little 2 drawer Firmtek. My 4 drawer Firmtek on RAID 0 gets well over 230. Are you sure you got this right?

Are you working in a DV sequence? Change it to 8bit, and in your sequence settings set motion quality to best and render in high precision YUV and render.

David’s thought about RAM may have been the answer. I used Leopard Cache cleaner, did a restart and re-captured to ProRes, it’s all perfect now.

There are at least 3 DVDs to get you up to speed on Color fast. One right here by Walt Biscardi, a “Jump Start” DVD from DMTS and one at Ripple Training by Andrew Balis. All good.

As long as you’re in on this hijacking, fine. Film is digitized on a machine called a telecine, and it can either be laid to tape or to a digital file. This is done by a colorist, people who may have a great set of eyes but make absurd amounts of money to make it look the way their clients want it.
This is done a post houses such as Complete Post in LA, if you visit their site you can see what it all about.

Yeah, it does take more space, but I think you could use Color also.
What I do is make selects and toss media I don’t need right away, that helps…
