What are your system and FCP versions? What format are you working in? I tried the filter and it worked fine, you may need to trash your prefs.

What format are you capturing from? To get ProRes from HDV you can do it over FireWire.

The most likely culprit is you have too many fonts open on your system. Close down ones you don’t need. Title 3D will work much better.

There’s a new feature in Soundtrack Pro which deals with removing certain sounds, in the tutorial they are removing or minimizing a bird, go to the Apple site and look at the new features tutorials.
