    Hey David,

Yes, got the warning and let it update the file. I”m not sure what copying to the finder level would do, but I will try that later today. I’m also gonna try opening a new 5.0.2 project and import the old into it and see what happens. Thanks for the quick response!

I had that same understanding Matte. I always work in DF and I put a marker on 01:00:00 and one at 01:29.29, and that seems to work fine, regardless of what stills etc. I put in the show.

    Yes, Walter,

And Joe’s levels is just the best. I use it for most if not all of my broadcast work, and I have never had so much as a phone call from a TV station in 6 states, never mind a rejection. And all of my spots which I’ve had a chance to see locally have looked great.

  • Marco,

With hard drives as cheap as they are now, you can afford to have several just for archiving, You could use one for primary and one for backup. As they’d just sit on shelf ’til you need to re-activate the project, it is highly unlikely they’d go down, but then you’d have the backup too.

Another suggestion which I do a lot, is just re-render the files from AE when you need them. If it’s a long render, do it an night or over the weekend.

Finally, you can cut the files in QT Pro, they don’t have to be the same length, just pick a cut or other notable occurance somewhere near the middle, and copy and paste each half into a new QT file with a few frames of handle on either side. It’s pretty painless to do a match frame on the two pieces to reuse them. I do this method all the time, but, I am also using the drive storage method more and more.

    Hey Jerry,

In the back of my mind, I knew the answer came from you, thanks for the assurance I wasn’t seeing things!!!

    Gary,

Not saying nay, but why would that matter? I’ve never percieved a problem from this.

And Walter, I could swear I saw a post here recently that told how to get around the time limit, think it had someting to do with setting the duration numerically in the viewer though I can’t remember exactly…Anyone???

    Riccardo,

Sounds like a field issue ’cause your rendering progressive. This should help:

    Hmmm,

My footage was shot in Beta SP on an Ikigami, and it scaled and cropped beautifully. Dunno…

There’s 2 DVE plugins in Boris Continuum Complete. Not cheap, but the whole set is fantastic.

    Well,

It could take a little while to master this, but at least they have about a dozen QT instructional movies to help.

It’s pretty amazing. Think I’ll take advantage of the introductory price. This will save you a boatload of time.
