Don’t think of it as technical either in and of itself, except for codec and compression issues, aspect ratios, and all the bewildering HD formats, but I agree with Bret, it’s pretty much all here. But then, you should also check out 2pop, FCPworld, LAFCPUG and Creativecow.net.

    Hey Walter,

Thanks for the tip about the LH, from what I can tell it’s a bit more practicle than the Kona 2 for people like me with analog stuff now and perhaps digital and HD in the future. Glad I waited on a Kona purchase!

    Hey Tony,

Ya know, there’s a lab that does this here in Phoenix, it runs around $1400 – $2500. For that kind of money I’d be better off rebuilding anything lost. But there was nothing on there I need that bad.

    Pat,

QT pro lets you type in any frame size on export.

    Also, here’s a great tutorial.

    https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/qt_movies_from_fcp.html

And here, exactly what you want, only it costs 12 bucks. It’s in FCP 4.5 vol 2.

If a mixdown is not fixing dropped frames, then you may have a bad cable, fragmented or too full drives or bad clips. You can try exporting a QT file and open that in another project which also my work.

    Per,

Haven’t seen that show, but in Eureka! plugins there a transition called blur across which I think might do.
